Great job gathering all this info over the years. It's clear just how much time and effort you have devoted to learning about your ancestors, and you have done an admirable job organizing the info here.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's been a fun filled journey & looking forward to many more new discoveries!
DeleteWell Done Dante!! My Family is Heaths. They came from Georgia they came to Davis county now Cass County Texas in the mid 1800s. Not sure what county they were from i heard it was warren came with the slave owner who were from warren but haven't been able to find out witch slave owner owned them. Got back as far as my 3x grand dad randall heath born in 1824 in georgia.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula! I'm sure we have a connection somewhere. We have a huge delegation of Heaths that relocated Texas and celebrate a reunion every June under the name The Joseph Terrell Heath & Della Johnson Family Reunion. The reunion is held every year in early June throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Warren County is definitely where the Heaths were heavily concentrated and then branching out over into Hancock, Taliaferro, Greene, and even in Wilkes and Burke counties in Georgia. We will definitely have to compare notes and bridge the gaps! Looking forward to learning more with you!
DeleteYou did a wonderful job listing your ancestor lines. You have raised the bar. I think I need to take time out to do mine also. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you get more connections from doing this.
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks so much Yvette for the kind and encouraging words! I'm hoping as well to make new connections and even discover more as others may be able to contribute something new.
DeleteDante, I believe outlining your maternal and paternal family lines is an ideal thing to do. It will definitely make it easier for visitors here to determine which family lines you are referring to in your posts, as well as having those names readily indexed by the search engines. But it also serves as a great research tool for those searching along the same family lines to access when they need to verify their family connection to you. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteThanks Liv! I appreciate the encouragement and sincerely hoping many will be able to make a connection!
DeleteI want to do a Page like that! That put it into perspective! and to go to for reference.
ReplyDeleteThanks True! Go for it!!!
DeleteGreat Job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristin!
DeleteI like your style... great research tool. Looking forward to the listing which includes VA and KY and hoping we can find a match!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ms. Mary!
DeleteLooking good Dante! Anyone believing they *might* be connected to your family will be able to read this page & immediately confirm any common Ancestors! One slight edit, since you have 3 Phelps Heaths are Grandparents you should designate them somehow - I, II, III or 1, 2, 3 or Sr. Jr. III. This will allow folks to follow your logic when you write about them & not get confused about which Phelps Heath you're referencing. Cool? Well done!:)
ReplyDeleteThanks as always Luckie! And I will be sure to make the edit to distinguish my three Phelps.
DeleteLuckie, I must say your suggestion to identify the three Felts (Phelps) was spot on as now all my fellow family historians are able to track research better as a direct result of my distinguishing the three men. In addition, we are learning that this name is actually another slave owner's family name which may lead to finding another link the Felts family which there were a few in the Wilkes, Warren, Burke, and surrounding counties of Georgia. Thank you again for leading the charge and pushing many us forward in not only documenting our history but telling our story to honor the Ancestors!
DeleteThis is really good ... Six African American generations ... Wonderful and keep up the good work ...
ReplyDeleteThanks Marcia!! It's been an amazing journey to say the least! So proud to be able to honor the Ancestors!!
DeleteNice research and order, great jobl
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and the encouraging words!
DeleteHey Dante! I really love this idea so much that I would like to use it on my blog. I will definitely give you and this post credit so that people will be able to track to your blog. I think this gives your readers an easy way to study your lineages and possibly find connections in their trees. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!!! And thank you for the shout out again! I am hoping this helps others searching, but I can honestly say it helped me when I created this page as this was the first time I have looked at all my generations on one page. I feel more connected to the Ancestors, and I sincerely hope I am honoring them by answering their call.
